Jerry Morris is a Plantsman and a Horticulturist with strong local roots. Born in West Wellow, on the edge of The New Forest, he owns and manages an eight-acre property in the area, where he indulges his love of native and unusual trees and shrubs.

Trained at Somerset Farm Institute, with additional qualifications from the Royal Horticultural Society and more recently from Sparsholt. Jerry started his career as a Journeyman with a local tree & shrub nursery, before gaining invaluable experience with Portsmouth Parks and Open Spaces Department. After gardening in the very different climate of Bermuda and expanding his knowledge with four very successful years in a busy garden centre he started his own business - Jerry Morris Gardening in 1972.

A major feature of Jerry's work is the protection of native species and the preservation of local enviroments. His extensive knowledge of plants generally, has led to some interesting and successful projects including the restoration of old and neglected gardens where correct identification is essential. Believing strongly in the value of nature, he follows a practice of encouraging and supporting 'green' issues. Clients include industry, schools, estates and private individuals - providing garden maintenance and woodland management.

Jerry has a very simple but comprehensive way of showing you how to maintain your garden without complicated terms or names. Forty years experience has given him an excellent insight into the day-to-day problems of garden maintenance. Jerry will visit and give advice or estimate for any site - large or small and you can be assured that any problem or challenge will be tackled professionally.
